Abstract

The exploitation properties of textile materials suitable for military and civil clothing are compared in this research. The perspective experimental method for measuring mechanical properties of textile materials based on pulling a disc-shaped specimen through a central hole was used. The hand parameters were determined for 15 woven and 7 knitted fabrics differing in weave/ knitting structure and area density. The obtained results have shown that the properties of fabrics for military clothing are similar to those used for everyday civil clothes. Notwithstanding this, the camouflage printed knitted fabrics are not suitable for underwear due to their increased rigidity after printing.
