Abstract

The behaviour of four knitted cotton fabrics classed to shirting group was investigated during the multiplex washing. The fabrics differed in weave type and in finishing. The behaviour of fabrics was evaluated on the basis of the changes of the hand parameters determined using the KTU-Griff-Tester. The dependencies between the six main hand parameters and the number of washing cycles were determined. The analysis of the influence of three cationic liquid softeners on the hand of textile fabrics was made in order to stop the deterioration of the hand parameters of fabrics and to stabilize the performance properties of fabrics.
