Abstract

Parameters of the structure, as well as physico-mechanical properties of plain jersey weft knitted fabric are analysed. Fabric samples of approximately equal surface masses and density coefficients were knitted from yarns from of various counts. Lengthwise breaking force was higher than crosswise one for both knitted fabrics. Breaking force for the knit-based knitted fabric is higher then for the plush knitted fabric in both directions, and is higher crosswise than lengthwise for both fabrics tested. Relative elastic deformation is higher for the plush knitted fabric, especially crosswise. Conclusion can be reached that the plush knitted fabric is more elastic than the knit-based one.
