Abstract

The article describes the field of application of knitted protection nets in civil engineering, for hail protection and as sunlight protection shades. Such nets are manufactured from polyethylene narrow ribbons and monofilaments on warp knitting machines. The basic construction of the knitted goods is chain and partial weft pattern lay-out. Surface mass of nets ranges from 40 to 150 g/m2, and force of ball breakthrough lies between 99 and 360 N. The application of these nets enhances personnel safety, product quality and functionality.
