Computer Aided Simulation in the Blowing Room

Abstract

The paper deals with the idea and effects of the system for the control and optimization of production by means of the computer aided simulation of the operation and control of the machines in the blowing room. Extensive possibilities of computer application in the simulation of industrial processes are pointed out. Since simulation according to the definition means presenting selected characteristics of an actual or imagined system by using another one, the operation of an production assembly with traveling bale opener and cleaner was taken as an example and simulated on a personal computer. The described mathematical model of process simulation was carried out and a computer aided program was created. Inside the program the computer using the detailed mathematical process model through on line simulation and animation controls informs the operator about the movement of the parameters of technological process. The method and conditions of actual industry application are shown. A possible further development and the application of computer aided simulation in this field of textile production using IBM PC compatible computers may be initiated in this paper.
