Abstract

The investigation of the tensile strength and elongation of individual fibres is one of the basic measurements in the process of examination of textiles. The basic parameters for investigations are given in valid standards (1-3). The results of measurements are influenced by the choice of testing apparatus, by test method, and finally, by examination conditions. Before the beginning of investigation it is necessary to determine on the samples the contidions to be observed. In this way the prerequisite is obtained for the achievement of reproducible results. The examinations presented in this work show in what extent the final result is influenced by the conditions of investigation. The measurements were carried out on the dynamometer type 1122 by Instron.
