Cotton Properties on the Yugoslav Market

Abstract

In this paper the import of cotton to Yugoslavia by export countries from 1983 to 1988 is described. It was shown that cotton is imported to Yugoslavia from about twenty countries, among which more than 85 % from the U.S.S.R., United States, Sudan, Republic of China, Egypt and Greece. Such a structure of import is first of all influenced by the foreign exchange possibilities at the purchase. The article presents the basic elements of cotton classes marking according to the report of the cotton exchange in Liverpool, for those countries which frequently supply the Yugoslav market.
