Abstract

A description of investigations of extended flax rettery process with the purpose to obtain fine flax fibres is given. The method for the determination of the effect of extended flax rettery is proposed. This method consists on the determination of lost of weight and measurement of tensile strengths. In spite of extremely variable properties of flax fibre (fineness, pectin quantity and other impurities), a series of investigations with reproducibile results has confirmed, that the control of the production of fine flax fibres from the technical flax fibres is possible.
