Abstract

Four groups of autumn/winter adult socks were designed. Short socks belong to garment size 8.5, and long socks to garment size 11. A smaller jacquard pattern in one sock group, and a larger jacquard pattern was made in another sock group. They were knitted on a hosiery automatic machine with a cylinder diameter of 95 mm (3 % inches) with 108 needles. Ten different yarns were used for the production: four cotton yarns, five polyamide yarns and one elastan yarn with a portion of raw material composition: 75 % cotton, 23 % PA and 2 % elastan. Under the Croatian conditions the lowest production costs of these socks are 4.45 HRK/pair, sale price is 9.23 HRK/pair.
