Abstract

The extended use of powerful computer hardware is required to ensure the efficient support of garment engineering and production processes of the garment industry. It is also required by the new computer software accordingly. The application of a new generation of high performance PC-based workstations is noted by computer hardware manufacturers. The use of local and widened computer networks increases their efficiency. Interactive input and computer-controlled output devices, being very important in CAD/CAM systems for the use in garment manufacture processes, have been also modernised. The paper presents the configuration and description of elements of a new generation of computer-based information systems for garment engineering and garment manufacture technology.
