Abstract

The recent attitudes of high developed western countries, regarding quality as a strategical category in the realization of successful business operation, is presented in this work. The new »quality philosophy« has its special terminology and standardization of the system (model) of quality assurance. The introduction of these systems in the enterprises should make the whole organization and quality control possible, as well as ensure the clear communication in marketing relations at the unified level. For this reason, the introduction of quality assurance system must be one of the imperatives in the reconstruction of the Croatian textile industry, if Croatia wants to join the European market. To explicate this, a summary is given of the ISO and EN standards in which these models are defined, as of the standards by which the conditions to be fulfilled by laboratories are regulated, if they want to practice such works as quality evaluation and issuing of quality certificates.
