Abstract

Methods for the measurement of the flexing resistance and drape coefficient were investigated and statistically prepared and the handle of the fabric from conventional and fine fibres compared. The influence of the fibre fineness, of the water-repellent and oil resistantfinish, as well as the influence of coating with polyacrylic dispersions on the handle of the fabrics from polyamide filament yarns was investigated. The results obtained showed a high correlation of the flexing resistance value and coefficient of the drape of the fabric. The methods described can be recommended for the application in textile plants.
