Abstract

Wet cleaning has been developed during last 15 years. Rigorous regulations according to VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) standards and fashion trends opened a new perspective in respect of other professional care procedures. Recognition and significance of this procedure is confirmed by including a label code for wet cleaning in the ISO 3758:2005. Theoretical base of wet cleaning and recommendation for implementation in practice were reviewed in this paper as well as its benefits and limitations in reference to dry cleaning. Procedures of textile and leather garment and potential problems in wet cleaning were presented from experience level.
