Abstract

More and more textile materials are built into modem cars, either for the purposes of interiors (seats, floor, ceiling or wall coverings), as safety elements (seat belts or airbags), various filters ensuring trouble-free engine run, comfortable and clean air in the driver‘s cab or as the contribution to the reduction of environmental pollution. Widely used are also fibres and various textile structures for tire reinforcements, individual construction composites, various tubes without which the basic function of car could not be carried out. This paper deals with fundamental features of these versatile materials.
