Abstract

The possibility of simultaneous application of Durable Press (DP) finishing and water-repellent as well as oil-repellent products in highgrade finishing of cotton has been investigated. Formaldehyde free (FF) DP agents: dimethylglyoxal urea (DMGU) and polycarboxylic acid (PCA) were used in combination with different fluorocarbon (FC) polymers. The effectiveness of the treatment expressed by Wrinkle Recovery Angle (WRA) and the amount of finishing agent that is determined chromatographically is improved by using these new combined recipes, what was shown on the applicability of FF multifunctional treatments in practice.
