Abstract

A survey of measures is given that should be taken in textile finishing industry with the aim of preventing environment pollution and saving water. Water management in textile finishing industry should have the goal of reducing water consumption and reducing its pollution. Accent is given to the selection of textile finishing chemicals, prevention of waste water entering running waters and sources of drinking water, proper selection of water purification and recycling, e.g. re-use of water in the process according to ecological parameters, recent European Union legal regulation of the subject and development strategy of the Republic of Croatia.
