Abstract

Problems in sewing technology of knitted garment manufacturing processes are described. Contemporary investigations are aimed at developing measuring equipment for on-line control in seam-making and control of proper functioning of the sewing machine used. To achieve this goal it is necessary to know and define the values of influential parameters in knitted garment sewing, such as thread tension, sewing needle penetration force, loop damage, horizontal and vertical force of the presser foot, manner of stitching, fabric feed rate, etc. Conditions, presumptions and possibilities for scientific research of these factors are given with above goal in mind.
