Abstract

A survey of the main characteristics of the application of intelligent garment manufacture and sales is given. Properties expected from intelligent manufacturing processes and characteristics of expert systems based on the rules and neuronic networks are presented. Neuron, as a processing element is outlined, together with the synthesis of neuronic networks. Neuronic network is described and characteristics of input/ output assemblies and intelligent sewing maschine listed, and a survey of possible linking of intelligent sewing maschines with other equipment given, with an emphasize on the situation in intelligent garment production, and especially with the measuring systems for determining the input parameters of neuronic networks. The organization and linking of all the segments in textile and garment production employing computer networks is described. The techniques of global garment sales are also described, as well as the investigations of fabric drape and creasing under the influence of forces, virtual fashion shows with computer-animated human figures, production organization and buying garments on Internet.
