Application of the Chrome Dyestuff and Ecology

Abstract

A survey is provided of basic characteristics of chrome dyestuffs with respect to their application to wool. With some dyestuffs from the production program of the Cromos-Organic Dyestuffs, Zagreb, the application fastness concerning the applied quantity of bichromate under control of the chrome remainder in effluents what represents a complex ecological problem was investigated. It was found out that bichromate quantities which are usually recommended by the manufacturers in from of Cr-factor can be reduced without consequences on the dyeing quality of wool.
