Abstract

The possibilities of characterisation yarn slippage resistance in woven textile fabrics were investigated. The testing was carried out on seven different fabrics for use in field of domestic textiles. Three test methods were employed and several indices estimated according to standard procedure prescribed in HRN and ASTM methods, as well as AKU-method. The estimated indices were: the yarn slippage in the neighbourhood of seam, the seam breaking force, the relative seam strength (seam efficiency) and the force needed to warp- and weft-yarn slip for length of one centimeter. The degree of correlation between these indices was analysed and statistical probability (significance) of correlation‘s coefficients was estimated.
