Abstract

The production of nonwovens in Croatia started in the second half of the 20th century. Due to low prices and specific properties nonwovens found a rapid application in numerous industry branches, households and in environmental protection. In the past the domestic production of nonwovens was determined and dictated by the needs of the domestic industry and exports. In the years to come nonwovens will maintain their position, and nonwoven products will be in great demand. Despite the fact that today‘s domestic manufacturers of nonwovens compete with international competitors on equal terms, it is estimated that the production of domestic nonwovens will satisfy the needs of automotive industry, construction and furniture industry in the years to come.
