Spirality of Plain Jerseys
Abstract
The paper describes the previous achievements with the aim of solving the spirality of plain jerseys. yarn twist factor is considered to be the main cause of knitted fabric spirality. By increasing the yarn twist factor, spirality angle is increased. Forces defined as unbalanced remaining torsion tension and release of torsion potential energy contained in the yarn decisively affect curling up fabric edges, spirality and instability of fabric structure. There is a direct relationship between spirality angle, yarn twist factor, manufacturing process as well as yarn treatment and relaxation. Spirality angle is considerably reduced by steaming and moistening.Downloads
