Abstract

On the initiative of the Maribor Museum of National Liberation a characterization and print of the replica of a first-class museum exhibit, better known as the Slovenian tricolored flag from 1918 (MNO Inv. No. 819) were carried out. Gentle methods of the characterization of textile museum exhibit, methods of colorymetry, computer-based techniques as well as textile digital print were used. The fabric to be digitally printed was impregnated with soda, urea, and alginate thickener and oxidizing agent. Cibacron MI dyes and digital printer 1500TX Encad were used for the methods of digital printing. The prints of the replicas were fixed, washed and saponified. The total colour differences between the textile museum exhibit and the print of the replica were evaluated based on the measurement of reflection and the calculated AE*CIELAB values.
