Abstract

Legal protection acquired (obtained) in the national industrial property offices, of two-dimensional and three-dimensional shapes of fashion creations, through the form of industrial designs, for clothing and textile producers is the most interesting area of the industrial property protection, as it is the protection of our own intellectual creation from the competitors. In this paper the explanations of the basic terms according to the Croatian Industrial Property Law are given as well as informations about authors‘ rights and applications rights, also some notes about the procedures that should be carried by the Croatian State Intellectual Property Office for the acquiring industrial design rights in Croatia. The article gives also information about data basis of industrial designs registered through the World Intellectual Property Organisation and about data basis of industrial designs registered in national industrial property offices, that can be a great help for the authors of fashion creations, if they intend to acquire protection in Croatia.
