Abstract

Contemporary techniques of making-up technical textiles are described. The techniques of dry laminating employing thermal and ultrasound treatment are described. The processes of ultrasound laminating are discussed in detail. A survey is given of the techniques of cutting technical textiles, with details of thermal and laser cutting, cutting with rotary discs and ultrasound cutting. Among joining techniques, special attention is given to the technique of joining technical textiles employing sewn seams. New types of thread are described, together with finishes applied to them, new machine sewing needles, surface treatments employed, tips and needle shapes, as well as sewing machines used for sewing technical textiles, including sewing robots. New types of special sewing machines are described, employing thermal and ultrasound joining of textiles manufactured of synthetic polymers.
