Abstract

The properties of polymer fibers, especially mechanical and technological, depend significantly on the size and morphology of the molecules that make them up. Regarding the size of the polymer molecule, this dependence is not exclusively a function of the average molecular weight, but primarily of its distribution. The paper provides an overview of molecular weight distribution methods with a comment on their comparative advantages and disadvantages. It is pointed out, partly based on the author's own experiences, the difficulties that may arise in their implementation.
