Abstract

The work is part of the dissertation of the same name, defended in September 2022 at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Textile Technology. The work presents the research phases that led to the attempt to reconstruct the composition of clothing based on the portrait of Anne Boleyn, the second wife of the 16th century English King Henry VIII. The first part of the paper deals with the stylistic and clothing analysis of the portrait, while the second, experimental part of the paper presents the procedures and stages of the reconstruction leading to the final garment. In the conclusion we present the results of this remark on the necessary adjustments in the reconstruction attempts, considering the impossibility of the existence of modern tools to achieve the authenticity of the historical clothing.
