Abstract

The Faculty of Textile Technology (TTF) of the University of Zagreb saw the importance of the timely involvement of its employees in EU projects and, with the establishment of the Textile European Projects Service (STEP), made a significant shift from the point of view of coordinating this activity. The main goal of STEP is to provide support, primarily to TTF employees, but also to business partners, when applying for international projects, and to educate potential leaders of EU projects with an effort to include Croatian textile science and economy in EU flows. The paper presents the work of TTF employees in the European Technology Platform for the Future of Textiles and Clothing, primarily within the framework of project applications. The EURATEX association has recently established a new data exchange system related to FP7 project applications within the textile area - TEPPIES (Textile Project Proposal Information Exchange System). The most important task of STEP is the initiation of project applications, which has grown significantly with the establishment of STEP, but also with the participation of TTF in the TEPPIES system.
