Abstract

Frequently used methods and burning retardants for cellulose and woollen fabrics, with particular reference to wash fastness and dry cleaning treatments, as well as to their advantages and disadvantages is presented. Bunning mechanism of these textiles is explained in detail and a survey of development of auxiliaries is given. Also the relation of legislation of several countries to the fire-resistant treatment of textiles and their relation to the compulsory protection of textiles against flammability is described.
