Abstract

The most frequently appearing imperfections of modern looms were studied. Besides of their negative influence on the quality of yarn for weft and warp, they represent a limiting factor for the increase of the loom speed. In the case of one-phase looms, the greatest disturbances for the increase of the loom speed are the way of the motion of the reed and the systems of weft insertion. To find the way how to avoid this defect, the possibility of the application of the rotation reed with the permanent rotation, similarly as at multi-phase looms, were analysed. By means of this system a better control of the weft thread tension than at multi-phase looms are possible. A comparative analysis of the influence of the reed on the disintegration of the weft and warp thread at one-phase and multi-phase looms is given. The diagrams of the speeds the weft insertion device and the rotation system of one phase looms are also presented.
