Abstract

As the first elements of the overmolecular structure of the fibres during the flow of the polymer melt are performed, it is extremely important to know the exact geometric measurements, the passage and the surface condition of each hole. This study demonstrates, that by means of measuring devices (special microscopes and devices for measurement of oil pressure sinking) that the fibre manufacturers process, no complete control of the spinneret holes is possible. For this reason the method of taking castings is proposed. By the analysis of the castings the exact geometric measurements and the condition of the surface, e.g. all basic elements that exert the influence on the flow of the polymer melt can be obtained.
