Abstract

The study elucidates the significance for the future of tecnical textiles, with particular reference to fabrics for composite materials. An analysis is given of the factors influencing the construction, the choice of fibres, the combinations of kinds, quantity and distribution of the fibres and some components of composite materials. Their main physical and mechanical properties are evaluated. The authors deal specifically with the advantages of the production of composite materials by stitch-bonding.
