Applicability of Expansion Flotation as a Method of Waste Water Purification of Hospital Laundry
Abstract
An analysis of the waste water of the Maribor hospital laundry has been made. After analyzing the parameters of water quality control according to the Slovenian UL RS 46/02 regulation, the tested water was treated using the method of expansion flotation and the applicability of this method for purifying the tested water sample was found out. Based on the obtained results it has been noted that this method of water purification reduces the monitored pollution parameters to a certain extent apart from the quantities of total phosphor and surfactant. In view of that this method satisfies only the needs of those laundries applying phosphate-free detergents, whereas some other physical-chemical purification system is used to remove surfactants.Downloads
