New Techniques in Garment Technology

Abstract

New techniques are presented that are implemented in garment manufacturing processes, machines and devices for garment manufacturing, as shown at the garment industry machinery exhibition IMB 2000 in Cologne. The technique of dry laminating is described, 3D heating systems for fusible interlining, as well as some new types of sewing threads and finishes for them. Techniques for machining the surface of sewing needles are also presented, together with the development of the shapes of tips and sewing needle geometry. The techniques of automatic lower thread cop change are presented, the usage of servomotor in sewing machines explained, and some other features (like self lubricating and the usage of ultrasound) also described.
