Abstract

A survey of important characteristics of world textile and clothing markets is given. It is also shown how the regional division of the world market affects the national production and trade of these products. This division as well as the problems of textile industry cannot be understood without distinction between commission production and commodity production in the textile and clothing field. The necessary prerequisite is the knowledge of international trade theory as well as the investigate of the international contracts and agreements regulating the international exchange between the developed and the developing countries. In this sense the reason for the passing single contracts and agreements as well as their semantic difference is described. Some fundamental characteristics of the most important agreements are given.
