Abstract

Resistance to drawing as a function of twist coefficient αm has been investigated on yarns of nominal count 20 tex, spun from various sorts of cotton. Resistance to drawing is a function of twist coefficient αm. Twist coefficient increase up to 105 causes the rise of resistance to drawing, for all the drawings above 0.25 %. The average resistance to drawing decreasing at breaking point, in relation to the initial resistance to drawing, is between 36 % and 41 %. Theoretical curves representing resistance to drawing-drawing, which mostly conform to experimental values exhibit an exponential form.
