Abstract

The sheep breeds and available wool quantities were recorded by means of field investigations in the Cres - Lošinj - area. Since this wool was not properly prepared for sale by the breeders, the consumers accept it unwillingly and its further application is hardly acceptable. The results of laboratory investigations of some quality characteristics of wool, carried out on representative samples of wool and fleece, give an answer to the question how to sort and to evaluate this wool for sale.
