Abstract

The paper discusses the influence of sodium fluoroborate as catalyst in the shrink proof finish and its efficiency at various condensation temperatures and different catalyst concentrations on the cleavage of formaldehyde, tenacity, angle of crease recovery and whiteness. As reactant the commercial product Reapret KPN, produced by Kutrilin, was used. It is a compound on the basis of dimethyloldihydroxyethylene urea (DMDHEU) with MgCL2 as catalyst.
