Stretchability of double knit plated fabrics for manufacturing recreational clothing
Keywords:

Four samples of double jersey plated fabrics were developed and analyzed, which are used in the production of recreational clothing. The first sample was made of cotton yarn with a count of 20 tex in plain double jersey structure. This sample served as a basis for comparing the structural parameters and stretch properties of the other samples made in plated structures. The second sample was made in partial plating with repeat 1+3. In this case all rows were made of cotton yarn with a yarn count of 20 tex, and in each fourth row a polyamide (PA) filament yarn with a yarn count of 44 dtex was inserted. The third sample of the knitted fabric was made in partial plating 1 + 1, i.e. the basic 20 tex cotton yarn is inserted into one row, and into the second row beside this yarn, the 44 dtex PA filament yarn is inserted. The fourth sample was made in complete plating, whereby only one 20 tex cotton yarn and only one 44 dtex PA filament yarn is inserted into each row of the knitted fabric. All the samples were made on a double-bed circular knitting machine with a machine gauge E17. The parameters of the knitted fabric structure and the stretch properties were analyzed.Downloads
