Abstract

Research is focused on optimizing scouring of cotton fabrics with acid and neutral pectinases. For this purpose, the procedures of exhaustion and pad-roll were applied. The effects of bio scouring were compared with alkali scouring determining hydrophilicity, degree of whiteness and strength. Achieved effects justified the introduction of pectinases for cotton scouring; neutral and acid pectinase proved to be eligible. The results showed that exhaustion is more efficient than pad roll process.
