Research of dimensional properties of knit-and-tuck rib cloth

Abstract

The main objective of this research is to analyze the influence of different number of tuck stitches in the structure repeat Ts on the dimensional properties of double knitted fabrics after relaxation. The structures repeat in height consists of combination of two courses: plain and tuck stitches. The tuck stitch fabrics (variants 1-10) have stitch repeat in width Rb = n + k, where the n - the number of tuck loops (n = 1, 2 or 3), k - the number of knit loops (k = 1, 2 or 3) present. The results of the researches showed that there are relations between the dimensional properties of the knit-and-tuck rib cloth and the different stitch repeat in width Rb. It gives us possibilities to control the level of dimensional changes of the fabrics by variation of the number of tuck stitches in the structure repeat Ts.
