Abstract

The development of human resources involved in textile products design begins with education process to be continued through work in companies. The education for designer profile is regarded as a complex process that encompasses knowledge and/or skill acquiring covered by social science, art theory, artistic and applied courses thus being apart both academic and professional studies. The research that has been carried out on the Faculty and the High professional academy in Belgrade, as well as with designers employed in textile production companies in Serbia showed the adequacy of current education programs and curricula, and its compliance to designer‘s job description once he faces real work environment. The conclusions from the paper may be used both for reviewing educational programs/course curricula and by production companies to define induction training of designers - newcomers.
