420 years since the first mechanical knitting
Abstract
The paper describes the first flat for knitting, which was made in 1589 by the English priest William Lee. The difference between a frame, a flat and a knitting machine is explained. Chronologically, the development of the basic structure of the flat for knitting and its application in England, France and Germany is listed.Downloads
