Abstract

The objective of this study is to explore the perception of the media presentation of eco-fashion as compared to the garment design inspired by urban living style and to find out if these values of subjects related to the sustainability of healthy environment are in compliance with this kind of perception. The term eco-fashion refers to fashion wear made of environmentally safe materials by using appropriate manufacturing techniques. Based on the media presence in all spheres of culture and economy, eco-fashion represents a contemporary trend. It is necessary to find out in which way the public interprets "visual language" by which eco-fashion is presented in the media and if this language is appealing to the public. In order to find out aesthetic attitudes of subjects towards visual presentation of eco-fashion in the media, a survey was conducted to find out the level of visual interest which is provoked by naturally inspired design in subjects in comparison to the design inspired by urban living style.
