Application of Modern Methods of Purifying Waste Water at Laundries
Abstract
Laundries are the greatest consumers of fresh water and detergents for washing textiles, which is why the treatment of these effluent is very important. By using chemical analyses from laundry it was found that some parameters‘ values were exceeded in regard to the “Decree of substance emission during removal of wastewater from laundry and chemical cleaning” (UL RS no.46/02). The purpose of investigation was the possibility of treating laundry effluent using advanced oxidation processes (AOP) and membrane technology in order to recycle water. On the basis of the results, using membrane technology (application of ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis) wastewater was purified good enough for reuse and closing the cycle in washing process, while AOP method represented a good alternative only in ecological sense, due to high expenses. All mentioned is in concept of sustainable development.Downloads
