Problems of Finishing Hosiery in “Jadran” d.d.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to explain the problems of dyeing polyamide fibres. The author has tried to give an overview of preparing the fibres previous to dyeing, together with testing samples. A short survey of the selection of dyestuffs is given, as well as the selection of procedures of dyeing using the dyestuffs generally applied in “Jadran” hosiery manufacturing plant. New generation fibres - elastomere fibres and microfibres - that are combined with conventional polyamide fibres, are also discussed. The aim of the paper is to aid in solving the problems that often occur in using polyamide fibres.
