With the 50th Anniversary of the Journal Tekstil

Abstract

The impact is discussed of professional publications, the journal Tekstil in particular, on the development of textile and garment industry, as well as their impact on the development of science and professional education. In the course of the last fifty years, textile and garment industries have undergone considerable developmental changes, in the amount of the products manufactured, product range structure, as well as in the technique and technology used. Simultaneously centres of textile and garment manufacture were relocated. This is one of the reasons the transfer of research and development results, as well as the publication of all the significant news in professional publications has been gaining in importance. Tekstil is a monthly, and for all the years of its publication it included scientific and professional developments in the area of textiles, as well as the information on important news, which had a wider impact on the development of textile and garment branches. Being indexed in eminent secondary publications, the journal reached a high level of respect, both in Croatia and abroad, thus further promoting Croatian experts, research, profession, as well as the country in general. Conditions for doing business are also analysed, together with the policy and tasks of the editors and management of the journal.
